Major loss: Funkstown loses RP Billy Wagner for 4-5 months with a bone spur in his elbow. Mr. Barlow, I need to know who you'll be replacing him with ASAP. Hopefully the major injuries stop, or this league will lose a whole lot of its fun to me.

The news at the moment just keeps getting worse for Cumberland. SP Dizzy Dean is lost for the season with a torn labrum. This injury doesn't surprise me because of how much injuries took a toll on Dizzy's actual career.
Erb, you'll have to let me know who you want to take Dizzy's spot on your roster.
EDIT: Added Addie Joss, put Fergie Jenkins in Dizzy Dean's rotation spot.

3B George Brett of Worcester will have to miss a couple weeks of action with a strained oblique. Phil, you'll have to give me a replacement for Mr. Brett for that time period.
EDIT: Added Darrell Evans, moved Stan Hack up to get the regular starts for the time being.

Funkstown will be without Nap Lajoie for a few weeks due to a fracture in his hand. Bojay, you know what to do.

Son of a biscuit. Send Nap to the 15-day DL and add Lou Whitaker please!
E.J.'s EDIT (lolz, I can edit other people's posts): 1. Erb has Lou Whitaker. 2. I just realized that I didn't need you to add someone because you had Robbie Alomar on your reserve roster. So you didn't need to do anything! haha

The bad news just continues to pile up on the Cumberland Sedohcs. Closer Trevor Hoffman suffered a torn flexor tendon, effectively knocking him out for the season.
Obviously, I put Hoffman on the 60-day DL. Replaced with the man who is credited by some with inventing the knuckleball: Eddie Cicotte.

An outrageous claim, EJ. Al Gore invented the knuckleball...

Time to inform you all of some recent injuries, as well as some players returning from injury. I know it's tough to know when some guys are coming back since only I can see exact timetables for players' injuries, so I'll try to improve at informing you when you're getting players back from injury.
RECENTLY INJURED: 1. A couple games ago (most of the time, the game doesn't inform me very well of injuries that just occurred), Jigger lost SP Juan Marichal for 8 weeks with shoulder tendinitis. Thompson, do you want me to move him to the 15-day DL (you could do the 60-day too, but you could get him back earlier the other way)? Also, I'll need to know who you want to take his spot on the roster at least until he comes back. 2. In the last game before the 3rd update, Providence lost 3B Brooks Robinson to a fractured rib that will require him to miss 6-7 weeks of action. I'll move him to the 15-day, sign 3B Ken Boyer, & add him to my active roster. Sorry, Cobra.
BACK FROM INJURY: 1. Also in the last game before the 3rd update, Worcester got 3B George Brett back from his stint on the DL. Phil, you'll have to let me know how you'll incorporate him into your lineup now that he's back; it wouldn't be hard to just quickly say to start him, but Stan Hack's played very well in his place. Move him right back into the lineup full-time, share time with Hack, leave him on the bench for a while? 2. In just four games, 2B Nap Lajoie will return from his broken hand problem for Funkstown. Bojay, same basic question as Phil...what's your plan for his return: get rid of your current platoon & start him the whole time, put him in a platoon with one of those two, bench?
Take your time in deciding, as I won't even have the 3rd update up on the blog until Tuesday afternoon at the earliest. Finals are the devil.

Hey Commish: Regarding Lajoie, please put him back in the starting role full-time, drop Pee Wee Reese, and return Alomar to a bench role. Thanks! ;D

Cumberland's C Mike Piazza suffered a quad strain and will miss 3 weeks of playing time. I've moved him to the 15-day DL & signed C Gabby Hartnett to take his place.

Worcester lost part of its catching tandem when Roy Campanella went down with a strained abdominal muscle while running the bases during the Ruby Legs' win over Jigger. He'll miss about 6 weeks of action. Phil, I shall need a player to replace Campy until at least he comes back from his injury.
